Ma la storia ha dimostrato che Yamaha ag\u00ec nel modo giusto al primo colpo, e nel 2001 TMAX non solo cre\u00f2 una nuova categoria, ma cambi\u00f2 persino la percezione di uno scooter. In questo arco di tempo il motore di TMAX \u00e8 cresciuto da 499 cc a 530 cc, mentre la trasmissione a catena delle origini \u00e8 stata rimpiazzata da quella a cinghia.
